The jaw crusher uses compressive force for breaking material. The crushing chamber consists of a fixed jaw plate mounted on the frame, and a swinging jaw plate mounted on the eccentric shaft. When the eccentric shaft rotates, the movable jaw moves up and down via a toggle plate.
👉 On the down stroke, the gap between jaws opens — crushed material discharges by gravity. On the up stroke, the movable jaw approaches the fixed jaw, crushing the feed material. The toggle plate and tension rod system provides overload protection by absorbing shock loads. The result: continuous, high-capacity primary crushing with consistent particle size.
This “crushing without rubbing” principle minimizes jaw plate wear and enhances energy efficiency. Operators can easily adjust the discharge setting by rotating the wedge or hydraulic adjustment (depending on design).
