Tanzanian Gold Mine Boosts Efficiency with JTP Hoist Upgrade

We’re excited to announce the shipment of our robust JTP-1.6×1.2P mine hoist, including a specialized lifting bucket and hook, to a gold mining operation in Tanzania. 

The client transitioned from their older JTK series hoist to the advanced JTP model to overcome limitations in lifting capacity, speed, and safety.

The JTP-1.6×1.2P delivers superior performance with a 45 kN maximum static tension, a drum diameter of 1600 mm, and a width of 1200 mm. Its multi-layer capability achieves lifting heights up to 670 meters, significantly outperforming the JTK.

With wire rope speeds reaching 4.1 m/s (using a 24.5 mm diameter rope) and motor power options up to 220 kW, this hoist ensures faster, safer material transport in Tanzania’s demanding gold mines. 

The upgrade also enhances operational reliability—critical for deep-shaft environments—while the compact design (6.4×5.4×2.2 m, 13,200 kg weight) simplifies installation. The hydraulic disc brakes’ zero residual torque (<0.5MPa) proved safer during emergency stops than JTK’s caliper system.
