Supplier’s Guide to Operating Hydraulic Rail Bending Machines

As a supplier of underground locomotives and related mining equipment, we often receive questions from customers about how to prepare steel rails during track installation. Alongside locomotives and rails, one essential tool is the hydraulic electric rail bending machine. 

To make rail laying easier, our engineers recorded a demonstration video, and here we provide a step-by-step written guide for reference.

Before operation, ensure safety checks are complete. Start by loosening the air valve and opening the oil return valve so the machine body returns to its lowest position. Place the hook of the rail bender on the track in a level direction, then adjust the balance rod to the required height.

Next, remove the dust caps from the oil hose and quick connector, join both ends, and tighten the screws. Connect the hydraulic pump station to a 220V power source, allowing it to enter working condition. 

After adjusting the spindle, press the upward button to extend the hydraulic cylinder. This will bend the rail gradually until the required curve is achieved. To reset, press the downward button and let the cylinder return.

If the curve is not ideal, you may use the manual lever for fine adjustments or reposition the machine to repeat the process. Please note that the piston rod has a maximum stroke of 70 mm. Overrunning this limit may damage the machine.
